Car Finder — Privacy Policy

1. Your parking location stays on your device

When you tap SAVE, the app reads your current GPS position and stores it in the app's own storage on your iPhone, together with the time and how accurate the reading was. This data is never uploaded to us or to anyone else. It is not backed up to our servers, because we do not run any. Deleting the app deletes the saved spot with it, and the trash button on the map clears it at any time.

Location access is requested only while you are using the app, and only for this purpose. The app never tracks you in the background.

2. Anonymous usage analytics (Mixpanel)

To understand which parts of the app people actually use, we send anonymous events to Mixpanel — for example "app opened", "spot saved", "map opened". These events include technical details such as how accurate a GPS reading was, but they never include your coordinates, your address, your name, or your email. No account is required to use the app, and we have no way to tie these events to you personally.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app is free and shows occasional full-screen ads served by Google AdMob. Google may use your device advertising identifier (IDFA) to select ads.

• iOS asks for your permission first through the App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, ads are still shown but are not personalised.
• Where required by law, Google's consent form appears as well. You can revisit that choice any time via Settings → Ad privacy choices inside the app.
• Your saved parking location is never shared with advertisers.
• Like any app that shows ads, Google and its ad partners may infer an approximate location (for example, from your IP address) and may collect device identifiers, app interaction data, and performance or diagnostic data in order to serve and measure ads. That is separate from the precise parking spot you save, which stays on your iPhone.

4. Notifications

After you save a parking spot for the first time, the app asks whether you want reminders. If you allow them, the app schedules a few local reminders on your device to come back and use it. These are generated on your iPhone — no push server, no message content leaves your device. You can turn them off in iOS Settings at any time.

5. What we do not do

• No account, no sign-up, no password.
• We do not sell data. We have no user database.
• We do not collect your name, email, phone number, contacts, or photos.
• We do not upload, share, or store your parking locations.

6. Children

The app is rated 4+ and contains no user-generated content, chat, or social features. It is not directed at children under 13, and we knowingly collect no personal information from them.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Significant changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
